What is Which Face Is Real??
Which Face Is Real? shows you two portraits side by side. One is a real photo and the other was created by AI. You click the one you think is real, and the site tells you straight away whether you got it right. It sounds easy until you play a few rounds and realise how convincing the fakes are.
It was developed in 2019 by Jevin West and Carl Bergstrom at the University of Washington as part of their Calling Bullshit project, which teaches people to spot misinformation. The fake faces come from thispersondoesnotexist.com using StyleGAN, and the real ones come from the FFHQ dataset of Creative Commons and public domain photos. The site also has a Learn page that explains the telltale signs of a generated face.
