What is Eel Slap?
Eel Slap is exactly what it sounds like. A man stands on screen looking calm, and as you move your mouse or finger left and right, an eel swings in and slaps him across the face. The faster and further you move, the harder the slap, and you can scrub back and forth to replay it in slow motion.
It was made by Act Normal, a creative duo. According to them it began as a quick web toy for friends using a clip of one of them getting slapped by an eel. The link spread online, became a big hit in Japan, and was moved to eelslap.com, where it has had more than 30 million visitors. It is a long-time favourite on 'websites to visit when bored' lists.
