What is Cat Bounce?
Cat Bounce is exactly what the name says: a screen full of cats bouncing around. New York artist Tara Sinn made it in 2012 while playing with a physics engine in Flash, and swapped the bouncing balls for cut-out cats because, in her words, she is a cat freak. Nick Hulea updated it for modern browsers in 2017.
You can grab cats and throw them across the screen, watch them ricochet off the edges, and hit the Make It Rain button to drop in more. It is pure silliness, and it has lasted for over a decade. Buzzfeed, Mashable, The Huffington Post and Mental Floss have all featured it, it is a regular on The Useless Web, and it won a Webby Award for Weirdest Website in 2019.
