What is Asteroid Launcher?
Asteroid Launcher is an impact simulator by Neal Agarwal, released on neal.fun on December 6, 2022. You choose an asteroid by material, diameter, speed and impact angle, then click anywhere on the world map to aim it. The site then plays out the impact and breaks down what happens.
The results are shown in plain terms: how wide the crater is, how big the fireball gets, how far the shock wave and wind travel, and how strong the earthquake would be, with estimated effects at each distance. Agarwal has said disaster movies like Armageddon and Deep Impact inspired it. Dropping a rock on your own town and seeing the circles spread out is morbid, a little educational and very easy to share.

- Pick the asteroid's material, size, speed and angle
- Aim it at any location on a world map
- See the crater, fireball, shock wave, wind and earthquake effects
- Compare small rocks with planet-changing impacts
- Read the numbers behind each effect
