What is Townscaper?
Townscaper is a relaxing town building toy by Swedish designer Oskar Stalberg. The full game is sold on Steam, consoles and mobile, but Stalberg also hosts a free web version on his own site that you can play straight away in a desktop browser.
There are no goals or scores. You click on the sea to place a block, and the game works out the rest: walls, roofs, arches, stairs, bridges and little gardens appear depending on what sits next to what. Stack blocks to make towers, pick a colour for each one and watch a tiny harbour town grow under your mouse.
