What is Internet Roadtrip?
Internet Roadtrip is a shared car trip across Google Street View. Everyone on the page is riding in the same car, and every few seconds the group votes on which way to go next. Instead of steering you can also vote to honk the horn or switch the radio, which plays real internet stations from near wherever the car happens to be.
Neal Agarwal launched it on neal.fun on May 6, 2025, inspired by Twitch Plays Pokemon and Reddit's r/place. It was covered by Boing Boing, Laughing Squid and Waxy.org and now has its own Wikipedia page. The charm is the chaos: the car has driven in circles, hit dead ends and at least once rolled down a bike path. Players chat live on the page and on a Discord server, and fans have built trackers to map the route.
