What is Thisissand?
Thisissand is a relaxing sand art toy that has been online since 2008, when it started as a project by a few art students. You press and hold on the screen to pour a stream of sand, and it piles up into hills and layers just like real sand in a bottle.
Change the colour as you go to build striped landscapes, sunsets and abstract patterns. The website runs in a desktop browser, and there are iOS and Android apps for making art on the go.
